Day 1 - Sunday

Welcome, congratulate participants on being proactive with learning, distribute personal journals to applicants


At this point contract with the group: How will we take care of ourselves and how do we take care of each other? We need to help each other, we need to not be alone with our struggle.

1:30pm -

 Journal exercise #1: What do I need from this workshop? Target your growth in dyads

1:45pm -

Introduce partner to the group and report back what is not confidential

1:55pm -

Setting the Stage/Expectation of the Two Days: We will address both the Structure of EFT and the Process of Learning EFT – normalize the challenges of learning the emotional language, slowing down in a world of fast answers

2:00pm -

Nuts and Bolts: Certification requirements: trainings, supervision,

Videotaping

- learning taping for yourself
- introducing to clients – do you believe it benefits them?
Discussion: How are you doing with taping? How are you presenting it? The clients benefit, too!
Review ICEEFT list: “Your tape is not yet ready for certification if…” Always opportunity to resubmit the videos - !
What needs to be shown in the videos?
Show video clip(s) that were approved for certification
Journal #2: Personal response to nuts and bolts, tracking internal responses

What gets activated with idea and meaning of being certified? Am I good enough, what does success mean? imposter? show the George marine biologist snippet

4:15pm - 15 minute break

ACES – Where do we each need to attend to our learning (which may vary across cases)

Alliance, Conceptualization, Experiential, Self of Therapist
Journal exercise #3: Personal response to ACES – let them check in with that: where have they each struggled the most in that process? Where have they jumped in and where have they avoided the process?

Systemic vs. Intrapsychic – Avoiding find the bad guy?

Our own attachment needs:

Identify/explore your biggest struggle/the most frustrating part as you try to get emotional depth working with your couples
The parallel track of do I go deep with my relationships? Do my clients go deeper than I go? Do I like it in the deep end of the pool, do I fight the deep end of the pool?
